Submission Guidelines:
We only accept submissions from current undergraduate (associate/bachelor's) or graduate (master's/PhD) students. Submissions should display a strong understanding of craft and cause readers to react, both emotionally and intellectually. All submissions should be previously unpublished.
We accept simultaneous submissions; we ask that you notify us if any of your submissions are accepted elsewhere. Please indicate in Submittable that the submission is simultaneous.
All written work must be submitted as .doc, .docx, or .rtf. Please use a standard font (i.e. Times New Roman). Art should be submitted in a standard digital image format.
When titling your submission, follow the format of "Last Name, First Name".
Please provide a short, 2-4 sentence bio for us. We only require you disclose the school you attend; otherwise, be authentic!
If your work is accepted, all rights to it will revert to you after the issue's publication.
If these guidelines are not followed, we reserve the right to reject your submission.
Plagiarism of any kind will not be tolerated. Your submission will immediately be declined if any copyright infringement is found.
- Poetry: Any form is welcome. Submit no more than five (5) poems at a time before receiving our decision. Poems should each fit on one page, single-spaced. If submitting multiple poems, they should be contained in one document, with a page-break between each poem.
- Fiction: We want short stories and self-contained novel excerpts. Subject matter and language should be tasteful and artistic. Submit no more than one (1) fiction piece at a time before receiving our decision. Please number your pages, and double-space your lines. Maximum word count is approx. 2500 words.
- Nonfiction: Send your best memoirs, personal essays, travel writing, book reviews, and more. Variety is encouraged! We're open to all sorts of non-fiction pieces. Submit no more than one (1) non-fiction piece at a time before receiving our decision. Please number your pages, and double-space your lines. Maximum word count is approx. 2500 words.
- Art: We are looking for all types of artistic expression, whether it be sculpture, painting, drawing or photography, and for the submission to be a well-photographed image of your piece, or a digital file. Submit no more than five (5) photographs, five (5) drawings, one (1) comic, or two (2) pieces of graphic design.
